YARN YATRA
Yarn Yatra – The Raj Art Initiative in its own small way, would like to remind everyone that we are a nation that’s prides in its ability to handcraft almost anything. We still barely rely on mechanized processes, and this is probably what keeps us grounded, rooted and diverse. But as time progresses and the significance of handicraft is erased, everything that we pride ourselves in will cease to exist. Before that happens, TRAI would like to celebrate what we have, through this colourful journey, The Yarn Yatra.
PHASE I
Phase I: The first phase of the yatra covered a journey from Delhi to Mumbai. Our artists, Rahul Chaudhary and Pankaj Saroj, yarn bombed 7 cities over a period of 21 days. From Delhi - Jabalpur - Ujjain - Bhopal - Baroda - Ahmedabad - Mumbai and back to Delhi. Our first phase through the western part of India, has been documented through short videos that capture the processes and materials used during the yatra.
